Brand Spankin' New [17 Dec 2010|10:52pm]

[ mood | nervous ]

So I'm a complete newbie to all this. But it seems fascinating. I'm tired of religions telling me I can't have spiritual peace if I can't enjoy myself. I was raised Roman Catholic, and they way I was taught even art that didn't directly praise their God would send me to hell.
So I would like to ask one or a few members of ths community to hel me out in truly understanding this.
Also, Hi!
I'm Amaranth.

Good Day [21 Jan 2007|05:27pm]

sirjimmy
I just joined. I actually converted to paganism after being an atheist. I've always been interested in paganism, so I figured I could start doing something with it for the new year.

Today is the first day of the Cletic Tree month of the Rowan. I don't know if many of you agree, but I suppose it has a bit to do with paganism. And it's mentioned in my Witches Calendar. *shrugs*

I was lookign for a community to talk to about these sort of things. Is anyone else celebrating the beginning of the Rowan month? I planted a tree...

Anyways, I'd love to talk to people.

OK

A while back I researched the Christian Coalition (CC) and its major influence on the Rupublican Party. Since the Regan era, the CC has grown not only in popularity but also in influence. Most experts on the influence of religion and politics state the the CC has had the single most influential effect on policy in the United States than any organization since the Caltholic Church. This may not seem suprising, it may seem easy to trace, but there is a lot that is not being told.

First let me start by giving a history of the CC. The Christian Coalition was founded in 1989 as a way to give Christians a voice in their government again. You can read more about it here and I urge you to do so. Doing so will help in understanding the enormity of what I am about to tell you. Anyway, most of us know about that part, simple easy to understand. What you don't know unless you do research is that it was founded by many Christian Leaders and partially funded at its inception by a late 60' 70' Cult leader.

Now before I get to the scary part, and trust me you will never look at our leaders the same way again, let us look who now are members of the CC. You undoubtedly have heard of these persons in the last 10 years, especially since the Bush regime took office. Here is a list.

Pat Robertson, Jerry Fawell, Dr. James A. Dobson, Timothy La Haye ( author of the "Left Behind" series), Bill Bright, Paul Crouch, Rev. Billy Graham, Dr. D. James Kennedy, Phyllis Schlafly, George HW Bush, George W. Bush, Dr. Robert Shuler and his Son, Ralph Reed, Sonny Purdue, Fred Phelps (self proclaimed Fag Hater), Pat Buchanan, John Ashcroft, Gary Bauer, Charlton Heston, Beverly LaHaye, Alan keyes, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Tom DeLay... I could go on... but let me give you this SUPRISE, it is a list by the CC for the 2004 elections, a scorecard on who the CC backs as a viable candidate. And these politicians that the CC backs are members of the CC, convienent huh? So now that you know the background and players, are you ready to be as frightened as I am?

Remeber I said that the CC was founded by Pat Robertson? He is the freakish televangelist who owns CBN and the 700 Club. Well Guess who was his financial backer to start this political action committee? Any guesses? Anyone? Buhler? He was considered one of the largest CULTS in the world in the mid to late 70's, He is currently a Billionare multi times over. He has major influence in ever country in the world presently, He has had the last 3 Republican Presidents speak at some of his engagements, and he wants to Rule The World! Who is he?

The Reverend Sun Myung Moon

Does anybody remember the "Moonies" that used to sell the roses and pictures on the street corners for the "Unification Church"? Well he is a CULT leader and currently has his claws on our government. DOn't Believe me... Go research it. This is SCARY and we need to do something. WHAT CAN WE DO? I AM FRIGHTENED

I was hoping someone here could help me...

A girl I know uses some form of dark magick once a month to kill someone... I was wondering if there'd be some way to protect myself against that, in case she ever decides she wants me dead. I don't know what that'd involve exactly - a spell, a charm, an amulet - something that could act as a shield from black magick, hexes, curses, etc. If this is possible and someone knows what I should do, PLEASE TELL ME ASAP. I don't think I'm in any immediate danger, but I do not trust this girl at all. Also, if you need more detail before you can help, ask me and I'll let you know.

THANK YOU.

New girl's introduction [27 Oct 2004|01:41pm]

[ mood | calm ]

Hello to all. I thought I'd introduce myself since I have been reading through. I first got involved in paganism/wicca/witchcraft/what have you at a young age because my mom was very into research into such things and the occult, and my grandmother came to the USA from a little town in Poland where paganism was still around & combined with Catholicism, so there were many little spells and ideas introduced to me at an age where it was just considered normal. I've been out of practice for a while now though. I suffer from major depression, anxiety, and panic disorder, and now that I'm getting treatment and up out of bed, I'm looking to get back into my spirituality.

If there are any parents out there with a child having nite-terrors, this was brought over from Poland by my grandma and used by her, my mom, and me and it works:

Have a dish of water and a candle ready. When the child begins the nite-terror, light the candle and drip the wax into the bowl. The wax will harden, you must concentrate on this, so that it will capture the negativity causing the nite-terror, and then smash the wax-chunk and bury it outside or throw it in running water (river, stream, etc.)

The 2004 RWB in Columbus, OH [14 Jul 2004|01:06pm]

jostyrus
[ mood | excited ]

Alright everyone, just a tad over 3 months until the 2004 RWB in Columbus, OH, and I must say that hotel reservations are almost all taken, especially considering that it's also on an OSU football game weekend.

After the past few years' evolution of the event have created a better, more friendly and definitely more educated environment, this year's event looks to be very well the best ever. Currently, there are many authors and teachers confirmed for the event. Confirmed authors include:

Dr. Raymond Buckland
A.J. Drew
Carl McColman
Dorothy Morrison
Taylor Ellwood (teriel
M.R. Sellars

and a few more.

There are also many unpublished teachers and a wonderful array of events planned for the weekend, including rituals, feasts, and another author roasting this year as Dr. Buckland will be the roastmeister for M.R. Sellars. You definitely do not want to miss this event!

Tickets are still on sale on the internet and directly at Salem West. For more information please visit the Real Witches Ballsite or call Salem West at 614-421-7557 or visit them at 1209 North High St in Columbus (on the corner of 5th and High in the Short North). Presale tickets are currently at $60 for the 3 day event. It is being held at The Renaissance, formerly the Adam's Mark in downtown Columbus, OH. For hotel reservations and room information please call them directly at 614-228-5050. Make certain you ask about the RWB room rates. As stated previously, they are really filling up so it is in your best interests to make it soon!

I know I speak for all of Pagan Nation when I say we look forward to seeing you there!

(x posted to a few other groups. If you think a group you are in would be interested in this, please by all means link this post to your group!)
